The decoupage has been made by myself and has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. Then painted over the top to blend all of the components together. The text reads, in the colours of the undercoat ‘take your time’.
Distressed all over to reveal glimpses of the undercoat and back to wood in some areas to age it. I paint thickly, with texture to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece that retains the spirit of the furniture.
I have replaced the handles with ceramic yellow rose pulls.
Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
This is a VERY OLD refurbished piece and so may have life marks, dinks, knocks etc. It is sturdy and sound. The drawers slide well. There are some remnants of paint on the sides of the drawers from past upcycles. The inside of the drawers and sides of the piece have a little shrinkage in the planks so there is a small gap. Doesn't detract from use but describing fire accuracy. Original casters remain on the feet. Solid wood top and wood veneer sides etc.
