Vintage solid wood drawers, painted to bring happiness. The decoupage has been made by myself from a vintage postcard and has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. Then I have painted over the top to blend all of the components together. The text reads, in the colours of the undercoat ‘may all your dreams come true’. Finished off with some hot pink stencilled stars for a little extra pizazz. I paint thickly with dribbles and texture and distress the piece heavily to age it and to reveal the colourful undercoats. I aim to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece. Finally varnished with a water-based floor varnish for a durable finish.
These are vintage drawers and will have life marks, dinks, knocks etc. They are constructed from solid wood. There are a series of holes in the top that at one point would have supported a mirror and drawers. The drawers slide easily. The drawers are on their original castor wheels. The original handles remain with a lovely patina. No odour. No woodworm.
