Vintage set of 20 school drawers that came from a local primary school.
Painted in navy blue and heavily distressed all over to show the cobalt blue undercoat. I paint thickly, with texture to achieve a genuinely aged feel. Decorated with metallic gold branches and leaves and decoupage birds taken from antique illustrations. The bird have been printed in fade resistant ink. Finally, varnished all over with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
These drawers are vintage and so have life marks etc. All the drawers are solid pine and the outer chest is teak veneer including the legs. Very sturdy and structurally sound and the drawers all slide easily. There's a bit of evidence of past paint colours on the sides of the drawers, it's been a host of colours in the past 🤣 and the insides of the drawers have felt-tip and crayon marks and one has some spilled dried glue remnants. No odour and clean. But i have refrained from painting the insides of the drawers as it shows the history of the children who have used this piece, which I love.
